Pregnancy and Postpartum
-
Pregnancy/Postpartum Pain
Though bringing new life into the world is nothing short of a miracle, pregnancy places incredible demands on the body that can lead to pain and dysfunction. From head to toe, aches and discomfort—whether sudden or gradual—are common, but not necessarily normal. There’s often a way to relieve your symptoms and restore comfort, sometimes completely!
-
Cesarean Scar Management
Having been there myself, I can’t stress this enough—please don’t neglect your C-section scar (never too late!). Even if it’s not painful, it’s important to remember that this surgery involves cutting through 6–7 layers of tissue, muscle, and fascia. Residual scar tissue and tightness can sometimes lead to issues down the road, affecting future pregnancies, posture, and overall movement.
At Sage, I provide manual therapy and personalized stretches and exercises to help restore mobility, reduce discomfort, and help you feel as close to normal as possible.
-
Diastasis Recti
A majority of women experience diastasis recti (DRA), or abdominal separation, during and after pregnancy. While time alone can help the tissue recover, DRA may contribute to pain, discomfort, or decreased efficiency of core movement and strength.
At Sage, we assess the extent of your DRA and provide individualized treatment to reduce abdominal separation, restore optimal core mechanics, and help you move with confidence again.
-
Low Back
Low back pain is very common during pregnancy. As your body adapts to support your growing baby, muscles and joints can become strained, leading to discomfort.
At Sage, we’ll help you understand your pain and provide personalized exercises and strategies to reduce discomfort, improve stability, and keep you moving comfortably throughout your pregnancy and beyond.
-
Rib Pain
Rib pain is common as your body changes to accommodate a growing baby. The expanding belly and shifting posture can put extra pressure on the ribs and surrounding muscles, causing discomfort or tightness.
At Sage, we provide gentle, individualized techniques and exercises to relieve rib pain, improve mobility, and help you feel more comfortable throughout your pregnancy.
-
Hip and Pelvic Pain
Hip and pelvic pain is common during pregnancy as your body adjusts to support your growing baby. The stretching of the round ligaments, along with changes in posture, joint stress, and muscle tension, can lead to discomfort that affects daily activities.
At Sage, we provide personalized strategies, gentle exercises, and hands-on techniques to reduce pain, improve mobility, and help you stay active and comfortable throughout your pregnancy.
-
Plantar/Foot Pain
Pregnancy weight gain can put extra stress on your feet, sometimes leading to pain and inflammation along the bottom of the foot. Swelling and changes in posture can also contribute to discomfort while walking or standing. Targeted treatment and exercise can help! Reach out today to start feeling more comfortable.

Balance
Use it or lose it! Balance generally starts to decline in our 40’s. We’re just not challenging our balance in the ways that we used to, so it’s no wonder that it catches up to us..
At Sage, we bring fun and creativity to balance training, helping you move with confidence, navigate your world more easily, and reduce your risk of falls.
